We’re currently looking to recruit a Finance Analyst to join the the Plumbing & Heating margin support team in Northampton.

You’ll be part of a team that is passionate about improving data integrity, processes and the accuracy of the accounting ledgers so that cash flows and margins are increased. You’ll work closely with colleagues and suppliers to identify, track, report and resolve the root-cause issues relating to supplier non-compliance for the contract claim recovery process, whilst reducing and tracking missed opportunities.

You’ll also be responsible for:

• Brand/Divisional Business Partnering for all Margin Recovery and Claimback debt resolution

• Interaction with both internal and external stakeholders, working to resolve or escalate queries

• Provide financial information and advice to Branches, Regional Directors and Divisional Finance Directors, including the preparation of reports

• Timely completion of Qlik/Manual claim reporting, creation and analysis, ensuring resolution or escalation of issues where appropriate

• Ownership of reconciliation between Sales, Claims, Payments and account position

• This reconciliation should encompass full understanding of differences, explanations and plan for resolution

• Ensure margin recovery procedures and processes are adhered to by consulting departments

• Provide support to the Claimback and Margin Manager/s and wider margin recovery team, ensuring escalation to the relevant internal and external stakeholder(s) for identified margin audit risks

• Investigating Supplier queries and discrepancies in a timely manner

• Suggesting  system and process improvements that adapt to meet business needs

What we are looking for

Ideally you’ll have a minimum of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) & an accountancy qualification such as AAT would be an advantage. You’ll have a good understanding around margin recovery processes and accounting principles. Your communication and interpersonal skills will be excellent to allow you to successfully engage with colleagues across the business. You’ll need to be highly organised, with the ability to plan workload and achieve deadlines.
