Finance Business Partner

City Plumbing Supplies is investing heavily in its digital capabilities and are therefore looking for a Finance Business Partner to support the IT and Digital Director and his team. In this role you will play a crucial part in helping support these teams in delivering in one of the most prominent and interesting areas of the business; the Digital agenda. Due to accelerated growth, we have an opportunity for you to be joining a dedicated, high performing team, where you will support and partner in an extremely exciting and prominent area within the P&H Division. Your ambition to succeed and develop your skills will help achieve this when operating within an area of the business as you liaise and deliver excellent analytical and reporting information to drive the best commercial decisions for the business area  you support.  You will be working closely with the other teams within finance including FP&A reporting teams along with your Digital and IT business partners to drive and maximise profitability in a fast paced business that continues to undergo a period of transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

●  Support of the IT Director and his senior team on cost control, commercial contract advice, and capital projects

●  Present the key themes facing the business at management meetings

●  Support the Digital investment agenda including investment appraisal, licencing, maintenance, and development spend

●  Work closely with other finance teams to deliver annual planning cycles (reforecasts, budgets & 5 year plan)

●  Be responsible for the production and presentation of the annual budget meetings.

●  Support the production of monthly management accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.

●  Be the financial conscience of the department, providing advice on cost control and improvement initiatives - ensuring that the best value is always pursued in regards to renewals, new development and change initiatives

Skills/Experience needed:

●  Qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ACA and can demonstrate key strengths such as proven record of business challenge and support, cost control, application of analytical techniques and  working capital management. Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge;

●  Strong Influencing, leadership and interpersonal skills.

●  Experience in analysis, planning and execution, performance metrics, project evaluation, commercial acumen.

●  Ability to simplify complex situations in order to communicate and present back to non finance stakeholders

●  Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, pro-active, collaborative and consultative.

●  Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience of large data slabs and manipulation, previous with SQL is preferred but not essential.

• Previous business partner experience of supporting IT/Digital teams would be useful. Volume of contracts and change projects is significant and previous experience would help.
