Finance Business Partner - Transport & Stock

We’re recruiting for a Finance Business Partner for Transport & Stock to join our General Merchanting based in Northampton. This is a high profile role in Travis Perkins, with Product Supply and Transport at the heart of our 5 year plan. You’ll be working on many exciting projects and have the chance to make a name for yourself to the senior leadership team.

The role involves providing analytical support to the General Merchanting Operations team so we can make the best financial and commercial decisions to deliver results. You’ll need to be a self starter who is continuously looking for ways of improvement, provide provide insightful data and challenge key business partners to improve performance and processes.

You will be responsible for:

• Producing KPI reports and support on decision making for us to deliver results. You will Business partner with the Divisional “Heads of Functions” to understand the key performance metrics supporting the operational delivery of Transport and Product Supply (stock management).

• You will make data easily and clearly accessible for Finance at monthly steering groups that and therefore provide the senior team with clear data that is easily understood and can be used to drive actionable insights.

• Managing investment appraisal business cases for matters relating to Branch Transport and Product Supply, modelling impact on financial return and working capital.

• Supporting the delivery of the 5 Year Plan, budget and forecasting cycles by working closely with business partners to help deliver a robust planning cycle.

• Plan and manage insight projects to improve reporting processes or investigate reasons behind performance variances..

To be considered, you will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with proven and demonstrable post qualification experience. It’s also an advantage to have specific stock and transport experience but is not necessary. Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who is able to drive results for our Transport and Stock areas.
