We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Assets Manager to join us to lead our Fixed Asset Team, part of the Finance Shared Central Services Department. 

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Group Chief Accountant and the Capital Reporting Manager – Fixed Assets and Property, you’ll lead a close-knit team and together you will be responsible for the fixed asset reporting and accounting across the Travis Perkins Group. 

Alongside the above, you’ll also: 

- Manage a team of two and support their development and progression
- Provide business partnering to finance directors and property directors across the group  
- Work with the wider business as a senior member of the group finance department to shape the fixed asset strategy through insightful reporting
- Be a key lead on all fixed asset projects, whether this is implementing new systems, resolving accounting issues or driving continual improvement 
- Have responsibility for the accounting and control of circa £1.2bn of assets
- Ensure the budget timetable is adhered to and the business finance team receive support and insight into future spend and costs
- Work with the wider accounting shared services teams in the continual improvement of the department, ensuring value is always being added to the businesses we service

Is this you

Ideally a recently qualified accountant, you will be looking to utilise your accountancy knowledge and strong excel skills. 

We’ll need you to be proactive, driven to complete projects and resolve issues and focussed on improving our processes and reporting. With responsibility for the accounting and control of £1.2bn of assets, you’ll have excellent attention to detail.

With the opportunity to manage a team and be a key business partner for finance leaders across the group, you’ll need to have great interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to develop relationships.
