We are looking for a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join us in an exciting and newly created national position providing support to our network of Travis Perkins, BSS and Keyline Tool Hire branches across the country. 

As an HSE Advisor no two days will be the same; you'll be providing front line support, advice and expert guidance to Hire & Branch Managers and Regional Directors, helping to find practical solutions to help us achieve our vision of everyone going home safe and well, every single day.

This is a brilliant opportunity if you are looking for an entry level role into health and safety, or if you are looking to expand on your current experience. The role requires nationwide travel, as well as covering Scotland and Wales, therefore as long as you are willing to travel we can be flexible in terms of base location. 

What you'll do
  • Support branch colleagues in terms of incident reporting & investigation with a Tool Hire focus
  • Support Branch Managers & Hire Colleagues in resolving HS&E related queries and problems
  • Assist the Hire HSE Business Partner in the planning & delivery of HS&E related training & improvement projects
  • Lead a simplified communications plan for Hire to help align the 3 hire businesses & drive consistent working practices
  • Work with rehire suppliers & manufacturers to drive HS&E improvements & scope out new product innovations & safety features
  • Work with the wider hire colleagues & support functions to develop a hire specific procedures manual to achieve & maintain ISO 9001 certification
  • Review the various HS&E Data streams for Hire eg Near miss & incident reports & colleague suggestions to determine quality insights that you can use to help support Branch & Hire Managers and the Hire Leadership teams to reduce risk.
  • Support the Hire Stay Safe Group to ensure HS&E messaging is consistent & drive HS&E improvements across all hire businesses
Is this you
This is an exciting position if you are passionate to either enter the world of Heath, Safety & Environment, or to expand your knowledge of Tool Hire. Previous experience or an HSE related qualification would be great, however this is a great development position to gain hands on experience, as well as the NEBOSH General Certificate & further training and development. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is engaging, driven and passionate about health and safety!
