Travis Perkins,You’ve probably heard of us, and it’s likely you’ve seen a bag of our sand on your neighbours driveway, but there is more to us than just that. We operate one of the UK’s largest fleets, and to do that, we have a team of professional drivers based up and down the country that we’re proud to call our colleagues.

We don’t look for “just a driver”. Of course, you need to hold a Class 2 licence and adhere to our vigorous Health and Safety policies to keep you and the public safe, but there is more to our drivers than just that. Our drivers are the face of the business, most of the time our customers only see a driver from our branches so your customer service skills need to be as good as your driving. 

The work that we do is local multi-drop work, regularly returning back to the branch to reload your vehicle ready for your next drop(s). We work Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:00 and every other Saturday 08:00 - 12:00 which is paid at overtime. Our drivers tell us that these hours are sociable, and they love the routine and work/life balance that it provides.

We’re yet to meet a driver that can carry a pallet of bricks on their shoulder, so we’re heavily reliant on our HIAB’s to safely and efficiently load and unload our vehicles. Don’t worry if you’ve not used a HIAB before, we’ll happily arrange and pay for your training. Oh, and we also arrange and fund your periodic CPC training too.
