The Tool Hire Hub Manager is a new and exciting venture managing our first Tool Hire Hub based in Barking, East London. The Hub supports around 60 branches across the South East region, its purpose is to deliver hire equipment to our customers, repair our equipment and trial new ideas for hire, this is a great opportunity to partner with our Group Hire businesses, Keyline, BSS, CCF and their Branch and Tool Hire Managers.
 
What will I be doing?
No one day is the same, here are a few pointers:
  • Strategy - You will be working with the TP South East Tool Hire Regional Director, Fleet Director, Hub Operations Manager and Tool Hire MD to help define and refine the strategic role of the TH Hub to provide a world class service to our internal customers, agree, monitor and report on SLAs and look for innovative ways to improve. 
    • Find innovative ways to communicate the operational model and benefit of the Hub to the wider TMO stakeholders.
    • Give proactive consideration to how this model can be replicated across the UK network to provide national coverage of the Hub model.  
    • Be prepared to adapt as we learn through developing the model.
  • Operations - Ensure the smooth set up and running of the SE Hub proof of concept in order to provide exceptional service to the surrounding TMO branches and their customers.  
    • Target a reduction in branches external spend with 3rd party repairers & couriers and allowing them to profit from improved fleet availability.
    • You will be managing the site on a day to day basis, providing the required leadership on site and across the TMO region to make it a success
    • Working alongside regional teams, you will develop great relationships with colleagues & customers in order to growth the regional Tool Hire business.
  • Customers - Understand your competitive landscape and foster solid relationships with your key customers in order to retain and build sales. 
    • Set plans and agree targets with Branch Managers, Tool Hire Managers and external Sales teams in order to increase customer penetration and Tool Hire sales within your sub-regions
  • Safety - Working alongside the branch teams you will ensure best in class safety standards and a progressive safety culture in your branches. 
    • Ensure that the Hub Centre operates within the Stay Safe, Compliance and Performance Standard requirements of the Tool Hire business
    • Coach and support colleagues to drive continuous improvement and proactively champion a ‘stay safe’ culture across the sites.
  • Stock - In conjunction with our Fleet Manager, Branch Managers and Tool Hire Managers review branch ‘stock health’ to ensure we optimise fleet utilisation and have the depth and breadth of stock required to service our customers. 
What experience do you need?
The successful candidate will already be supporting or managing a medium to large branch and will have the skills and experience needed to step into a Tool Hire Hub Manager role, including Inspirational Leadership, Operational Management, Sales Experience, Great Customer Service and Commercial Acumen.
  • Proven track record of sales and operations within a “Branch’ environment is a must
  • Experience of direct line management
  • Be process driven and have the ability to understand and interpret systems and challenge systems
  • Must be methodical, well organised and tenacious
