Travis Perkins’ Information Security Team are currently seeking an experienced Information Security Analyst to work within the NIST cybersecurity framework, lead  and improve maturity of security operations functions as defined by NIST (Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond and Recover), advising service owners, resolving issues, undertaking operational assurance/testing including vulnerability scans and penetration testing.

The role we're recruiting for:

The Information Security Analyst will ensure the smooth functioning of and act as subject matter expert for security operational activities relating to on-premises services as well as cloud-based SAAS, PAAS and IAAS, managing the risks,  communicating issues and operational control requirements to service owners, so as to inform operational risk treatment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle and investigate Information Security issues, collaborating with other team members in accordance with agreed processes/procedures, so as to contain impacts, determine root causes and progress investigations to resolution.
  • Assist in the delivery of security training and awareness to build basic skill sets across the business and IT communities, fostering security knowledge champions and online security communities, so as to improve the culture and behaviour of colleagues regarding information risks that the functions address.
  • Report against defined Key Performance and Risk Indicators so that assurance is provided to relevant stakeholders; participate in the development and evolution of these key risk and performance indicators.
  • Assist in the improvement of Information Security policies, compliance measures and tooling, working within the Information Security team on relevant quality and process improvement initiatives, so as to increase control effectiveness.
It would be great if you had...
  • Vulnerability management using e.g. Nessus, Splunk admin and development or similar other SIEM knowledge, cloud security measures (AWS and/or GCP), Incident handling, change review and approval.
  • Privileged password management, firewall rules, endpoint security, security awareness campaigns.
  • Tenacity, willingness to take on challenges and flexible/adaptable to change
  • Good interpersonal skills, influencing and coaching.  Works to tight deadlines in multiple work-streams/ services.

  • IT-related degree; Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional or Information Security related Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
