The Role
The role of Investor Relations Manager assists in the preparation, coordination and communication of all dealings with the financial community - and is the primary point of contact for current shareholders, potential shareholders and third parties involved in the financial markets.

Job Summary
  • Day-to-day responsibility for the management of external communication with the financial community - this is both highly complex and must be right at all times
  • Significant time pressure environments such as the reporting of financial performance with in a rigid timetable. Inbound queries from shareholders / analysts are expected to be responded to on the day in which they are received, regardless of travel and other commitments
  • Expected to understand all aspects of our Group’s businesses. This includes: economic drivers, market structure, current operational model, historical / current / future financial performance
  • Maintain strong relationships across the organisation, particularly with the broad finance, communications and operations team within each Business Unit
  • There is a significant demand for time in London (typically 1-4 days per week), with additional trips across Europe and North America within the annual programme
  • Assist in the creation of all external communication of financial performance and strategy
  • Create the annual investor targeting and interaction plan
  • Manage the investment relations function’s reporting to the GLT (monthly Board reporting)
  • Communication and disclosure of new or price sensitive information must be deferred to the Director of Capital Markets (and then ultimately the Disclosure Sub-Committee of the Board)

Background and qualifications
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Specific financial or business qualification: ACA / ACCA / CIMA / MBA / CFA / Treasury
  • 5+ years experience in a professional services environment
  • Strategic thinker
  • Flexible and responsive to conflicting demands and changing priorities
  • Excellent financial analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of business drivers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Highly articulate, personable and engaging

  • Accounting qualification
  • 5+ years experience in investment relations and the capital markets
  • Experience in treasury, audit, and banking

Additional Information
There are high expectations of the quality of communications of Investor Relations Manager.
There are significant demands on hours worked and travel.
Typically more than 10 international trips, and 1-4 days per week will be spent in London.
