Lead Network Engineer

Due to a number of large-scale projects and developments in the pipeline, Travis Perkins has the need to invest in the growth of its Network support and deployment team.  This  makes Travis Perkins the perfect place to expand your Horizons, help build the internal skills of the team and really have an influence on the shape of our future.

Key Responsibilities

We are currently seeking an experienced and original thinking Network Services Engineer to play a crucial role supporting the branch network (1700+ locations), and work with the design  team to collaboratively translate high and low level designs into deployable configurations and workable solutions. you’ll also be contributing significantly to the Group IT strategy.  

Innovative, logical and practical, you must have a number of years experience within a support role, ideally in a fast-moving environment. Exposure to enterprise technology solutions and knowledge of large scale infrastructure transformation and migration activities are highly desirable. 

You’ll be part of the Network Services team, reporting directly to the Network Services Manager. 

For this role we will need...

You’ll need to be Certified to CCNP level.

We are also looking for experience in the LAN/WAN switching and routing arena , Knowledge of the following Cisco products sets and Management platforms would also be advantageous in supporting the the current estate.

  • Management Tools - Solarwinds , Cisco DCNM-LAN/SAN, Wireshark, Cisco Prime
  • Cisco NX-OS - Nexus 7K, 5K, 3K, 2K Series, 
  • Cisco IOS Switches - Catalyst 6509, 3750, 2690 
  • Cisco 1000v, VSG & ASA 1000v, ASA 5500X Series firewalls
  • Cisco Call Manager & CCUX 
  • Previous experience with AWS
