At the heart of Travis Perkins is our customer; the builder, plumber, joiner plus many more trades. The trade relies on us as their local Timber & Builders Merchant, and with over 600 branches nationwide, we have Great Britain covered.

Based in Northampton, we have an opportunity for a Marketing Planning Manager to join our team. Through strategic thinking, strong data driven insight and creativity, you’ll be responsible for building and implementing strategic marketing plans for key categories that form the focus of commercial and customer objectives. These strategies will be developed using channel expertise of the functional areas within Category, Operations and Marketing teams.
 
With aggressive growth plans, you will own and develop a strategy that helps build long-term relationships with our customers and drive footfall into branches and online, delivering incremental sales and ROI; be that through for example direct marketing, promotions or other channels such as POS or radio.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Ownership of including creation, development and measurement of the marketing plan for a specific area
  • Build marketing plans that meet the category objectives by working collaboratively with the channel teams
  • Become an integral part of the category team that you work with, representing the customer and influencing strategy
  • Implementation / project management of all marketing campaigns and initiatives to ensure they are on time and within budget
  • Drive innovation and creativity by having a thorough understanding of the market and the broader marketing and communications landscape
  • Managing third party agency relationships involved in delivering marketing plan where applicable 
  • Manage the allocated budget ensuring that all relevant admin and controls are to a high standard
  • Develop a deep understanding of the categories within your remit

  • A hands-on team player
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Confident presenter and assertive manner
