We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to support the Wickes K&B Distribution function as part of the Distribution Leadership team. Your main tasks will be to manage day to day operations, Legal and H&S compliance, Recruitment, Training, Retention and Development of Colleagues. You will be expected to drive performance improvements within the Home Delivery Network.
What you’ll be doing:
Develop and maintain a Safe Working Culture
Develop and maintain engaged culture across the K&B distribution, including Transport and Warehouse, by ensuring colleague involvement in projects and promoting individual development to deliver leading edge customer satisfaction and >99.9% OTIF performance
Delivering and promoting open, collaborative and consistent communication throughout the business
Training - to include practical training such as Driving assessments, Company Inductions, Manual Handling, Vehicle Familiarisation and FLT Training
Design and development of training material and literature to include Training and Induction, Delivery documentation and handouts inc signoff documents , SOP Design and Risk assessments
Management and ownership of local and national projects with emphasis on sharing a Best Practice approach
Management of warehouse facilities, where applicable, to include personnel, MHE and Facilities Management
Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure Company policies are communicated, applied and embedded across all sites within role remit
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure delivery of end to end efficiencies such as Warehouse and Planning ( Internal and External)
Ensure that crews at all times operate in line with company delivery procedures and SSOW
Foster and implement Change Culture across all areas
What are we looking for:
Educated to GCSE, O level or equivalent
National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport
Cat C HGV Licence
Minimum 3/5 years’ experience in a transport/distribution line manager role
IT Literate (Microsoft Office/Google)
Experience of building an engaged and high performing team and culture
Transport Planning (Paragon)
Budget and P&L ownership
RA and SOP development and management
Continuous Improvement and Lean management
Managing Change and transition
Working knowledge of Transport law inc EU drivers hours and RTD
Health and Safety
Cost conscious
Attention to detail
