Project Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Project Manager for our BSS business in Leicester.  If you are a well organised individual with strong planning skills, a methodical approach and are able to work collaboratively across business functions, then this is the role for you.

The Project Manager will plan and deliver and a variety of projects within the Commercial Projects Programme, supporting the BSS business vision and strategy.  This will involve the coordination and management of specific projects from definition through to delivery within time, resource and budgetary constraints.

Principal Accountabilities

• Working with project management colleagues and category teams to identify and deliver new and replacement product ranges, including own brand products, from UK, European and low cost country sources

• End to end management of the product sourcing tender process, including product specification, tender issue and analysis, and product introduction

• Managing a variety of Commercial projects from definition through to delivery

• Coordinating project activity across business functions and with suppliers

• Completing and presenting cost benefit analysis to support project recommendations

Person Specification

Whilst we are ideally looking for a candidate with experience in a Distribution / Merchant role with an understanding of project management principles, the role does present an excellent development opportunity.  The successful candidate must possess the relevant core skills and attributes to compensate for any lack of practical experience, including:

• Confident with spreadsheets and able to adapt to new systems

• Strong numeracy skills

• Self starting problem solver

• Team player, takes a collaborative approach, able to build productive relationships
