Regional Director - TOOL HIRE - North - Travis Perkins
The Role
Reporting to the Tool Hire Managing Director, you will be leading a team of Regional Operations Managers, to ensure the safe execution and efficient operation of the Tool Hire business, ensuring achievement and improvement upon the agreed target set in the annual operating plan and continuous improvement in line with company 5-year plans. Whilst directly responsible for a team of 3, you will have indirect responsibility for the Tool Hire operation within the region, therefore influencing skills at both a senior and operational level are a prerequisite.
What are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, a background in tool or plant hire is essential along with multi-site experience within a senior operational and sales role (or) be able to clearly demonstrate the competency. With exceptional communication and influencing skills, you will have the ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders and be able to make informed decisions.
A visionary, collaborative and engaging leader, you will be highly motivated, innovative, tenacious and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will have exceptional customer relationship management skills and the ability to create and sustain long-term partnerships. With a high level of supplier, competitor and market commercial understanding, you will be able to drive business growth to make a real difference to the bottom line.
You will also need experience of working through a change programme, with an understanding of the challenges faced when taking a team through a change initiative, therefore inspirational leadership is a must!
Principle Accountabilities:
- Working with the Stay Safe team to ensure that the Tool Hire business takes a proactive approach to all matters concerning Health & Safety in relation to colleagues, suppliers and customers.
- You will be a key contributor to refining the Tool Hire Strategy, responsible for identifying and proposing innovative solutions to key business opportunities.
- You will prepare and agree with the Tool Hire Managing Director a plan to continually develop the Tool Hire business within your Region.
- Working with the Regional Managing Director and Regional Directors you will ensure the team are aligned to deliver and expand performance.
- You will review the financial performance of the Tool Hire business to ensure monthly sales, margins, overheads and levels of utilisation are supporting the achievement of the AOP. Where areas and trends of concern are identified, you’ll ensure appropriate plans exist to rectify promptly.
- Through influencing Regional Directors, you will ensure the delivery of high-performance standards within your Region in order to deliver the AOP, compliance, and best practice, promoting the Tool Hire offering at every opportunity.
- As the leaders, you will lead, motivate and inspire a team of Regional Operations Managers in Tool Hire by taking a proactive role in recruitment, performance and career management and ensuring adequate succession plans are in place.
- You will understand your competitive landscape and will foster solid relationships with your key customers in order to retain and build sales.
