Due to internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Sales Manager to lead and develop a strong and motivated team of 15 across our South West and Wales region. The team includes Area Sales Reps, Key Account Managers, Sales Negotiators and two Regional Sales Offices in Cardiff and Wales. Leading from the front, you will ensure we continue to grow our sales and profit opportunities across the network of branches.
Hours - Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm no weekend working!
Must haves - Having a Full UK Drivers licence is essential for this role as you will be required to travel

Principle Accountabilities:
- Training and developing the sales team to maximise performance and deliver on agreed financial targets.
- Work in conjunction with the Regional Director and Branch Sales Teams, in order to improve our “in branch” selling culture, and to support sales growth plans across the sub region.
- Ensure the sub-region and team sales goals are achieved through the effective recruitment, training, development and motivation of sales professionals.
- Ensuring sales territories are organised to maximise the effectiveness of the sales team resource and to provide optimum coverage of the allocated customer base.
- Proactively leading the development of customer specific action plans in conjunction with relevant team members and other key stakeholders.
- Reviewing and reporting sales, margin and team / individual specific key performance data, providing appropriate feedback and acting upon areas requiring improvement.
- Actively calling on sub-regional key customers, spending at least 75% of time in the field independently and with the team.
- Develop an understanding of all major sites across the sub-region, whilst executing robust plans to maximise our selling opportunities.
What we are looking for?
- A visionary leader, who is highly motivated, innovative, tenacious and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret information will also be key along with previous people management experience.
- Strong leadership, be able to motivate and engage the teams, ensure that succession planning is being used to drive talent sustainability, coach and mentor direct reports “rising stars”.
- You will have exceptional customer relationship management skills and the ability to create and sustain long term partnerships.
- With a high level of supplier, competitor and market commercial understanding, you will be able to drive business growth to make a real difference to the bottom line.
To succeed within this role, you will need to evidence multi-site experience within a senior operational and sales role with a proven track record in delivering outstanding sales and profit performance
(or) be able to clearly demonstrate competency. Being able to clearly demonstrate drive and passion that will encourage others to achieve their best, you will have the ability to create and cultivate a “one team” approach through collaboration and motivation. With exceptional communication and influencing skills you will have the ability to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders and be able to make informed decisions.
