We, at Travis Perkins, have a brilliant opportunity for a Sales Apprentice to join our collaborative and thriving Sales Office team based in our Stroud Sales Office. In this role you will coordinate inbound calls and orders for customers, offering a single point of contact for pricing and ordering for our large Regional Customers. Linking with our branches and Account Managers, you will play a key part in our sales growth through proactive customer engagement.
Right from the start you’ll be supported in your development. You’ll join our Sales Apprenticeship, a 12 month, Level 4 Apprenticeship that will give you the tools to be successful in your role. Over the length of your apprenticeship programme, you’ll explore:
Our business and the industry in which we operate
The products we sell and the services we provide
Your own influencing and negotiating skills
What makes us different and keeps us as the number one choice for our valued customer base
You’ll also spend a bit of time within one of our branches to understand how our teams work together to service our valued customers
Our Apprenticeships are focused on your development and factor study time into your working week, so you can achieve your qualification without affecting your work-life balance. We provide you with a fantastic support network through; 1:1 coaching, mentoring and technical and skills training to enable you to progress your career with us. Along the way, our experienced team will provide you with plenty of support to ensure you get the best out of your Apprenticeship. And it doesn’t have to end here, as we have a suite of Apprenticeship programmes that can support you to continue to develop your career with us, all the way up to the Boardroom.
What will you be doing?
There is no such thing as a typical day when you’re an Apprentice with Travis Perkins. What you can expect is to gain exposure across a number of areas within the team, allowing you to see where your strengths and interests lie and the direction you would like to develop your career in. Your role responsibilities will require you to:
Provide high quality customer service over the phone.
Use your newly developed sales skills to question your customers to understand their needs and create solutions for them.
Take ownership for customer quotes and be proactive in following these up.
Ensure all customer and supplier queries are actioned and resolved in a timely manner.
