Section Supervisor

We are recruiting for a Section Supervisor position on a permanent basis to join our Store Delivery Centre in Northampton.

Purpose of role:

To provide an efficient and effective senior administrative service to the Administration Department, through the effective day to day management of the Direct delivery administrative support team and to ensure all systems and procedures are carried out in line with company policy as detailed in the Company Reference Manual, and current Best Practice Guides.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all administrative systems and procedures are carried out to the standard laid down in the Company Reference Manual and BPG’s

• Provide day to day management of the Direct delivery administrative support team e.g KPI monitoring, communication, Performance management and Development

• Set daily targets for achievement across designated section. Plan and control weekly labour requirements for assigned section / sections ensuring sufficient capability to meet fluctuating workload. Identify and react to potential problem areas within the section / sections which may require further reporting including both financial and trend analysis

• Liaise with Senior Managers to ensure operational targets are identified, that regular measurement is taken against these targets and that remedial action is taken as appropriate

• Develop a highly motivated team of potential leaders by encouraging open communication and holding regular briefing sessions and chairing minuted operational meetings as required

• Ensure all Health and Safety Legal requirements are met and adhered to

• Liaise with other Stores and Head Office departments when required to ensure continued efficiency and better service levels as appropriate

• Job holder will be expected to operate in the short to medium term focussing on operational strategy whilst maintaining an active involvement in ensuring daily targets are met

• To work as a Team and prioritise workload throughout the day

• Be receptive to change, as the position is within a rapidly evolving environment.  Any changes will be in line with the needs of the business

• Reporting directly to the Carrier and Direct Delivery Manager working closely to build and maintain direct working relationships
