Staircraft is Europe’s largest supplier of staircase for new build developments. Over the last 6 years, it has also established itself as one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of I-joists and door sets to the same market. After rapid growth and twice being listed in the Virgin fastest-growing business’ (2017 & 2018), 1 of only 25 companies ever to achieve that feat.
Staircraft sit at the forefront of innovation through design and have successfully launched several innovations to housebuilders across multiple products in recent years.
This is your opportunity to stamp your personality across the business as a commercial Category Manager / Buyer, supporting the implementation of product category strategies for Timber and other associated manufacturing products for the wider Staircraft business. You’ll own the supplier relationship, you will help drive innovation of new products, influence the trading margin and mix - and support the wider Commercial Strategy in growing and managing our supply base and business performance.
You’ll be supported by some fantastic training and development and have the opportunity to learn, grow and develop across the Staircraft business.
We are recruiting a Senior Category Manager / Buyer to become part of our growing commercial team.
Overview of tasks include:
- Work alongside the Commercial Director in creating, delivering and owning supplier relationships with a clear and customer focused strategy for the categories to deliver growth in customer sales, profit and market share in line with the 3-year plan
- Manage all categories within the commercial team to deliver business / manufacturing targets by creating and executing the category strategy.
- Accountable for specific category plans aligned to the needs of our Manufacturing processes, informed by internal and external insight to provide the best overall customer proposition.
- Accountable for delivering a product range that offers the optimum balance of quality and value and is fully aligned with the needs of our customers, growing sales profitably.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to execute brilliant commercial projects across the business including sales teams; promotional and customer marketing plan; category pricing strategy; optimised range to support our customers.
- Deliver margin / COGS improvements through supplier trading terms negotiations, group synergy projects and common and direct sourcing programs.
- Accountable for delivering a category budget for all manufacturing facilities, monitoring trading performance and developing and executing action plans as required to achieve the plan.
- Manage supplier base to ensure they meet all of our key performance requirements
Location: Hybrid working role but meeting in our head office in Colliery Lane North, Bayton Road Industrial Estate, Exhall, Coventry CV7 9NW
Hours: 9.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday
Pay: Competitive including pension a Medicare package
