Server & Storage Lead Deployment Analyst

We are currently seeking an experienced analyst to join our Server and Storage Infrastructure Deployment team based in Northampton. As a permanent member of a multi-skilled team you will be working in a fast paced environment to deliver Infrastructure both On-Premise and in the ‘Cloud’ to support and expand the Travis Perkins Group business. 

The role we're recruiting for

As a member of the Server And Storage deployment team you will be working on any number of projects, from single server and multi-server on premise deployments, through to highly available cloud and hybrid solutions. 

There will be instances where you will work on projects as part of a virtual team working closely with other Internal stakeholders to deliver solutions from initial design through to integration and ultimately delivery to the operational support teams. On occasions these roles may be undertaken by the job holder, and as such you will own the implementation from concept through to delivery to service. 

Your experience of enterprise-scale solutions will be called upon to assist in both implementation and third level support investigation. 

As a lead deployment analyst your role will also include providing advice and guidance to the other colleagues both within the Deployment team but also to other wider stakeholders. Working with external third parties may also be required. 

Your day ­to­ day duties will be (but not limited to):

• Collaboration with technical architects to design and build new infrastructure.

• Implementing small and large changes to infrastructure, operating systems and applications, both on premise and deployments in the Cloud.

• Working with the infrastructure design team on capacity planning / monitoring

• Providing 3rd line support to the operational service teams for escalated issues

Essential Skills

• Expert knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems

• Development of automated deployment technologies

• Working knowledge/experience of Cloud services such as AWS, Google and Azure

• Knowledge of application and server virtualisation technologies and components including  Microsoft Hyper­V and Citrix XenApp

• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking and security appliances

Whilst not essential, the following would be of significant benefit within the role:

• Use and development of automation tooling such as Ansible and Terraform

• Deployment and support of Infrastructure platforms to AWS and other Cloud providers

• Experience of providing support for enterprise scale systems

• Knowledge of database technologies including MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB and Postgres

• Experience of working with HPE Synergy compute and Pure Storage Technologies
