Our Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is looking for a Shift Supervisor to join the  GSOC team. If you have great attention to detail, a professional telephone manner, good administrative skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills then we would love to hear from you!

Who we are:
The Group Security Operations Centre (GSOC) is an in-house security operations centre that operates in real time and is manned around the clock, 365 days a year. The GSOC team is divided into two areas. Reactive Operations, which are charged with monitoring and
responding to alarms from security systems (such as CCTV, intruder alarms, personal attack alarms and security fog) installed in branches, head office buildings and distribution centres across the estate.

Technical Support carries out remote preventative and reactive maintenance of these security systems and their associated networks. In total, The GSOC consists of 31 colleagues, headed up by a Monitoring Station Manager and supported by an Assistant
Manager, Supervisors, Operators and Technicians.

What will you do? Shift Supervisor
As one of our four shift supervisors, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of your shift. You will be expected to maintain regular communication with your peers to maintain uniformity of working practices, and have a proactive approach to the ongoing
improvement of the department in line with the Travis Perkins Group values and security and business strategies.

You will have up to five direct line reports, and will be responsible for their training and development, performance monitoring, KPI assessments and regular documented one-to-one meetings in line with the GSOC Manager’s vision of continuous improvement. Once your training is complete, you will also be given ad-hoc projects to work on either individually or as a team, which are designed to broaden your skills and knowledge base while improving the efficiency of the GSOC team.

In addition to this, you will also be responsible for ensuring all events on your shift are documented and accurate reports are maintained. Each night/day shift varies but at any given time you may need to liaise directly with branches, regional directors, Group Security Investigators, third party security providers, Police or other stakeholders to assist with supporting the business with their security needs. These include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Assisting branches with resolving faults on their intruder alarm systems
- Raising technical tickets when faults are identified
- Notifying relevant managers and investigators when break-ins and other serious
security concerns arise
- Arranging static guarding and/or mobile patrols with third party providers
- Assisting branches with making arrangements for boarding up and securing sites
following break-ins
- Escalating issues to relevant managers and supervisors as they arise
