If you have the drive and ambition, we're looking for you.This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join our friendly team reporting to the Demand Planning Manager within our Plumbing and Heating division, where you will receive full training and support. The successful candidate will be required to optimise product availability and customer service within the Division’s Primary Distribution Hub (PDH) and branch network whilst maintaining cost to serve and stock health. You will be responsible for product availability of a defined portfolio and group of suppliers, managed through accurate demand forecasting, system parameter management, purchase order placement and expediting. You will work with colleagues in Product Supply, Distribution, Commercial and Branch Operations; along with external suppliers, to support delivery of stock management objectives and targets.
To be successful in this role you will;
Utilise the relevant Demand plan to place appropriate timely purchase orders on the supplier base using the JDA system, to ensure above target stock availability.
Manage system triggers and parameters for PDH and branch, including re-order multiples, safety stock levels and order frequency.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships over a given supplier portfolio, sharing relevant data, including purchase plans and promotional insight, to optimise mutual benefit.
Act as a point of contact for safety, quality and stock discrepancies.
Review data trends, commercial insight and root cause analysis by exception to identify current and potential future stock concerns. Communicate information to stakeholders and undertake mitigating action as appropriate.
Expedite stock through the supply chain, escalating if required, in order to ensure stock availability targets are met.
Provide support and data to Commercial colleagues on PDH and branch stock, with information as required to support commercial decisions or negotiations. Support with product life cycle including New Product Introduction, alternative product referrals and discontinuation.
Remain alert to current and potential over stocks and modify or postpone orders as required. Take accountability for having the right and relevant stock to maximise return on investment.
Engage with Distribution and Branch Operations colleagues to support product availability and stock health related matters including product returns and stock allocation.
What we are looking for;
To be successful in this role you must demonstrate attention to detail, tenacity and an ability to operate in a results driven environment. The ability to analyse and act upon data is essential and experience of using JDA or similar forecasting systems would be a strong advantage. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and the supplier base to achieve results.
