Role purpose:
Co-ordinates,drives and optimises the 12 month rolling Trade plan for a specific Category, i.e. promotions, microseasons, promotional space, online and identifies risk to the sales and margin performance’ using the Trade planning process to resolve them.

Key responsibilities:

  • The delivery of the rolling 12 month rolling trading plan which is a key part of ensuring the category achieves their sales, margin and volume targets.
  • Understand, review and report on the performance of all promotions, price and space,  identifying risks and opportunities to the category sales plan.
  • Working cross functionally to ensure that the  promotions, pos, flyers, space and volumes are right first time when executed instore/online and are simple for stores to execute. Also to be able to lean in and help the Trade planning team through holiday or absence as the team consists of 6 members.
  • Insightful understanding of how customers shop the category instore/online throughout the calendar year and week by week, sharing this information with the category and bringing opportunities to life for customers.
  • Drive and develop the category pricing plans, in particular price hierarchy and guidelines/disciplines ensuring price makes sense and customers at Wickes understand they get value for money.
  • Optimise the opportunity of Micro seasons,ensuring enough volume online and instore at precisely the right time of year with relevant communication to store and customers.
  • Exit plans are clear and transparent for the category and wider business and followed through daily/weekly.
What are we looking for:

  • Commercial track record in planning & implementation for merchandising, pricing, marketing & communications, & operations

  • Hands on knowledge & experience of  reporting / analysis

  • Working with a network of stakeholders around a large organisation

  • Developing customer value propositions

  • Working with complex data sets / projects

  • Delivery of business / operational initiatives
