Looking for a new challenge, maybe a new industry, are you in an Operational role today maybe Logistics, do you have supervisory/management experience, do you enjoy working in a team and have a thirst for learning. Yes? Then look no further, we have a great management role for you, we are looking for an Operational Assistant Branch Manager in our Urmston branch.

The Urmston branch is on Higher Road, its a fast paced, challenging but fun Branch, the branch manager has created a vibrant and professional atmosphere.  The branch has 18 colleagues, 2 delivery vehicles and a successful Tool Hire department. The footfall in branch is between 160-200 Trade customers a day, most we know on a first name basis.  

We are planning long term, so we are looking for future Branch Managers, so if you are willing to learn every aspect of branch life, are hard working and ambitious, we would love to hear from you.

Hours - We are open Monday to Friday 7am - 4.30pm and Saturdays 8am -12pm, (you don't have to work every Saturday, our colleagues do 2 in 4.)

What will I be doing?
No one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, and now that you have had a great onboarding and induction, here are a few pointers:  
  • Stay Safe - Set the tone and champion a Stay Safe culture within our branch, ensuring that Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and that staff are aware of their specific responsibilities.
  • Ensure that regulations relating to vehicles within the scope of the goods vehicles licensing of operators act are adhered to.
  • Operations - Ensure all transport related risk assessments, training records, driver licences and other Health and Safety documentation is checked periodically.  Follow up action as necessary.
  • Support to ensure that all vehicles / trailers are inspected as per agreed time schedule in accordance with Goods Vehicle Operator Licence specifications, ensuring that defects are promptly rectified and all documentation is signed off.
  • Compliance - Including auditing, KPI counts, goods in and goods out, dealing with our suppliers
  • People - Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help coach a team to deliver the highest standards of service.
  • Working alongside the Branch Manager, you will lead and coach our colleagues, taking accountability for the success within the branch overall.
