Here at Travis Perkins we’re looking for a Responsible Sourcing and Quality Assurance Manager to join our commercial team. You’ll lead your team to deliver a range of initiatives to ensure all of our products and suppliers comply with quality, safety, environmental and ethical requirements including applicable legislation 

Location: Our head office is based in Northampton, however, we’re working with a genuine hybrid model where you’ll have a great work life balance. 

What you’ll do

You’ll be responsible for Travis Perkins, CCF and Keyline.  You will work with stakeholders across these businesses to deliver our Responsible Sourcing and QA requirements.  You will also collaborate with your peers from the rest of the Travis Perkins Group (Toolstation, BSS, Benchmarx and Tool Hire) and with the Group Head of Responsible and Ethical Sourcing, to share best practices and to ensure compliance with our Group policies and minimum standards.  You will maintain brand integrity through the supply of appropriate quality products and by minimising the business risk associated with both product and suppliers in the supply chain.

You will lead on Responsible Sourcing within these core Group businesses, delivering one of the Group’s leading ESG focus areas, including delivery of supplier and site assessment programmes to conform to Group minimum standards. 

As Responsible Sourcing and QA Manager, you will lead and be supported by a team of Category Technical Managers and a Responsible Sourcing Manager and your team forms a key part of the Commercial function. 

Alongside the above you’ll also: 

- Manage the Category Technical Managers and Responsible Sourcing Manager to set and deliver against objectives and business priorities as agreed with key stakeholders
- Identify and deliver improvements for branches and customers through collaboration with Commercial and Branch Operations 
- Work closely with our Far East Direct Sourcing Office to ensure TP’s requirements are consistently applied and met and a programme of product and supplier improvements is implemented     
- Ensure TP and its supply base are prepared for the impact of new legislation through industry knowledge and key stakeholder engagement
- Identify opportunities for profit improvement, through close collaboration with the Category teams, proactively using knowledge of product specifications and supplier capabilities
- Maintain and communicate procedures that ensure business disruption is minimised, when product or supplier non-conformance is identified, through effective resolution
- Support a programme of activities that allow effective management of of branch safety reporting through the commercial team and supply base

Is this you?

We’re looking for you to have in-depth knowledge of QA and responsible sourcing practices and methodology and be able to demonstrate practical experience of Supplier, Factory, CSR (Ethical) and ISO9001 audits and respective International standards/audit criteria. We’ll also need you to have good knowledge of British & European product safety, legal & technical standards and associated compliance certification/conformance. In addition you will have experience of managing teams and successfully developing and delivering business wide programmes of QA and responsible sourcing activity. 

You’ll also have: 

- Resilience in following through business critical issues
- Persuasive approach to problem solving at all levels
- Effective stakeholder management
- The ability to make evidence based and commercially appropriate decisions 
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals
- Well organised with the ability to plan workload to achieve deadlines as a team
- Good numeracy skills and conversant in Google and Microsoft platforms
