We have a great opportunity for you to build your career with the largest building materials distributor in the country by joining us as an Assistant Commercial Development Manager in our Commercial Development team based in Northampton. 

What you’ll do
You will play an important part in supporting the business’s commercial performance through a better buying and profit improvement programme. As an integral part of the team, you will gain great insight into the commercial activities across Travis Perkins, giving you the opportunity to really broaden your experience and build your career. 
Working closely with the Commercial Development Manager, you will research market and industry data, to highlight industry trends and market dynamics, influencing category strategy. You’ll be responsible for the development and management of an on-line tender programme in conjunction with the commercial teams. You’ll also identify opportunities through insightful analysis of category and supplier performance to support the teams in key negotiations. 

Is this you?
Inquisitive and passionate, you have proven experience of data management in a commercial setting. Using your excellent analytical and problem solving skills, you’ll be confident in simplifying complex data sets and presenting clear recommendations. With an eye for detail and sound commercial understanding you will always be seeking insight from data that will drive decisions and value to our financial performance. You’ll need to be confident at communicating and influencing a range of stakeholders across the business. You enjoy working in a team but are also confident in driving your own initiatives and managing workload pressures. We will need you to be confident in using a wide range of office software applications including advanced Excel.
