Here at Travis Perkins, we are looking for an experienced Traffic Marshall for our largest branch across our estate, its our Flagship branch in Vauxhall, which is based in our South East region.  
With 20 delivery vehicles and over 70 colleagues, this is an extremely busy branch, they also have over 12 Artic lorries delivering everyday and a footfall of over 300 customers per day.

This is a unique role, the first of his kind for TP, so we are open as to whether this is a part-time role for two, working 30 hours per week each, these would be 6am - 12pm or 12pm - 6pm, alternatively, a full time position - this can be discussed at interview stage.

The Role
Given this prestigious and busy branch, we are looking for an experienced Traffic Marshall that can  ensure the safe movement of vehicles in and our of our site. You will be responsible for facilitating the movement of heavy vehicles on-site and customer vehicles, maintaining access control, and ensuring that all visitors adhere to site safety regulations. You may also be required to direct traffic on roadways when heavy vehicles enter and leave the branch.

Accountabilities
  • People - Maintaining excellent communications with the Branch Management team, including our Yard Manager, their yard teams and heavy vehicle drivers.
  • Stay Safe, Set the tone and champion a Stay Safe culture across the branch at all times promoting a healthy workplace and colleague wellbeing. 
    • Conducting visitor safety briefings and ensuring that the correct PPE is worn.
    • Ensuring that suppliers, colleagues and customers adhere to health and safety controls in the branch.
    • Facilitating the movement of customer vehicles, Manual Handling Equipment and supplier / Travis Perkins heavy vehicles on-site.
    • Preserving pedestrian and traffic routes outside of the site entrance.
    • Ensuring pedestrian routes within our boundary are kept clear.
    • Responding to applicable ad hoc requests.

What experience do you need?
We are looking for an experienced Traffic Marshall, ideally you will have worked in a similar fast paced environment.  You should have excellent communication skills including being able to  use hand signals to direct traffic.  You should be able to boost production rates by understanding traffic flow and communicating clearly with drivers.
