Looking for a new opportunity, have you got experience of leading a small team, do you enjoy working outside and helping customers, then we may have the role for you, a Warehouse Supervisor, we call them Yard Supervisors.  You don't need to come from our sector or even know our products, we will support you with a great onboarding experience. 
 
Where will I be based?
Our Warehouse Supervisor will join our Knaresborough branch on Manse Lane, you will be part of the branch management team. We already have a successful team of 12 colleagues and 3 delivery vehicles, this is a busy branch with over 150 Trade Customers a day, most we know on a first name basis.  Given its size and how busy we are, the Branch Manager has created a friendly and vibrant environment, the team is really hard working and they all help one another, so a great team spirit, so you will be in good hands.

Hours - Monday - Friday 7.00am - 4.30pm and Saturdays 8am - 12pm (working 2 in 4 Saturdays)
 
What will I be doing?
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service whilst ensuring the safe and efficient running of our yard. You will also be responsible for leading and inspiring our yard team of 12 and our 3 drivers, who are on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our yard.  
 
Accountabilities
  • People - As Warehouse Supervisor you will lead, motivate, engage, delegate to empower the yard team and drivers to work together as one.
    • Ensure that succession planning is being used to drive talent sustainability, coach and mentor direct reports “rising stars” and management apprentices as required.
    • Being based outside leading the external yard team, you will be processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
  • Stay Safe, Set the tone and champion a Stay Safe culture across the branch at all times promoting a healthy workplace and colleague wellbeing. 
  • Customers - Developing strong relationships with branch customers in order to build profitable business growth.
  • Operations - Managing the full operation of the branch yard, ensure that adequate provision is made for customer deliveries, that branch layout is right and standards for safety, storage efficiency, housekeeping, and ability of customers to find products they might want to buy.

What experience do you need?
The successful candidate will already be running a small to medium-sized team in a similar role and will bring with them, their transferable skills including, Supervisory experience, Safety awareness and Great Customer Service.
