Looking for a new challenge, maybe a new industry? We are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our successful Team in Dereham
It doesn't matter what sector you come from, as long as you have the right skills and attitude we can train you in the rest !!!
The branch already has a fantastic, well established team of  8 colleagues, they are running 2 delivery vehicles and have a footfall of 100 customers per day.  We are now looking to expand our team with a dynamic and organised Yard Supervisor … Could this be you?

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 7am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-12pm (working 2 in 4 Saturdays)

Joining our friendly and hard working family as a Yard Supervisor you will ensure the efficient running of the yard, safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
Your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment. 
Responsible for leading and inspiring your team who are on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our yard. 
Being part of the branch team you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.

What will I be doing?
No one day is the same as the next in a Travis Perkins  branch, but here are a few pointers:
Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you would be expected to get to know our customers on a first name basis.
  • You will be based outside leading the external yard team, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
  • You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
  • Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry  full training is provided.
  • You will be heavily involved in the branch delivery service, which may involve route planning, load preparation, and managing transport and driver compliance in line with procedures and road traffic laws. 
  • You will work with the branch management team to ensure stock levels are maintained to a healthy level, to allow us to serve our customers whether they are having a delivery or collecting from our yard. 
  • You will be expected to help manage security of products in the branch

What skills do you need?
We don't mind what industry you have  come from, we just look for great transferable skills 
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to  lead a team confidently
  • Great time management and Commercial awareness
