Customer Service Assistant

Joining our friendly and hardworking team as a Customer Service Assistant, you'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our Branch. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.

FIXED TERM - 6 MONTH contract. 

Where will I be working?

Travis Perkins is a network of 500+ branches that supply quality timber, building materials, kitchens, plumbing and heating, landscaping, painting and decorating essentials, and tools to trade professionals and self-builders across the UK. You will be based at our Carlisle Kingstown branch, however may be required to cover our Carlisle Currock & Brampton branches also. 

What will I be doing?

You will be covering a range of roles within our branch, but here are a few pointers:

• Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis

• You’ll handle requests, provide information on our products, prepare quotes and help each customer with their purchase, taking our sales from good to great

• You'll also be responsible for ensuring the safe and correct movement of our products around the branch

• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, by adhering to all stay safe policies and procedures

• Keeping the shop floor clean and tidy, and putting away any stock that comes in

• You will be based outside, processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles

• You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse

• Full training is provided in order to drive our forklifts

• Van driving, you could be taking orders inside, to being outside with customers loading vehicles or even delivering their goods

Am I right for this position ? 

• Full Clean UK Driving Licence - REQUIRED 

• Customer Service Skills - REQUIRED 

• Ability to work in a hands on environment 

• FLT licence would be beneficially, not essential
