Are you passionate, motivated and enjoy building outstanding relationships? Do you thrive in a fast paced environment backed by a supportive team? If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ve got huge ambitions for 2024 and beyond, and we’re looking for a Volume Housebuilder Account Manager to join our Group National sales team to help us achieve our goals.
Location:This is a National working role where you would be required to travel around 4 days per week to visit our contractors. A company vehicle will be provided.
Please note, at times you may be required to stay overnight due to location. Whilst learning the role you’ll be supported by and working alongside some established colleagues.
This role will be based on hybrid - one day working from home or office and 4 days based on the road.
What you’ll be doing
You will lead and manage the partnership with a defined number of high profile Key Accounts. By working collaboratively, you will agree and achieve jointly agreed strategic plans and objectives; thus delivering the sales and profit budget for those accounts.
No two days are the same within this role, but here are some of the key accountabilities you will be involved in:
Manage a number of National customers on assigned ledger, building business relationships, gain enquiries and convert to orders. Acting as a single point of contact into the Group. Manage the Sales & profitability of each customer account in line with company expectations.
Develop and maintain an appropriate multi brand account management strategy with each customer to ensure that all sales opportunities are maximised, maintaining a high degree of personal contact with the key decision makers
Lead and support the divisional brands with high-level negotiations and bid submissions for National Framework Agreements with the assigned customer(s). Ensure the appropriate customer personnel and relevant divisional brand personnel are engaged in joint activity including PLC stakeholders (where appropriate)
Work hard with Credit Services to ensure customer payments are made on time and in full.
Manage and update the customer special pricing agreement (CSA). Ensuring all customer deals in place are maximised to their sales potential.
Communicate customer information to appropriate company business units, such as Group Sales
Facilitate various business meetings with customer, TP functions such as H&S, group Sales and core suppliers to increase customer dependency on Travis Perkins and generate sales opportunities.
What we are looking for?
We are looking for someone who’s enthusiastic, resilient and resourceful, with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for excellence. Additionally, being well-organised and planned goes without saying, as you will be responsible for building relationships with some of our biggest National customers remotely.
We work in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment where as part of our culture we take pride in what we do. We listen and support each other as one team in the National Sales Office whilst driving to achieve one shared vision.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
An attitude to succeed and a continuous improvement outlook
Industry knowledge of building products would be advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.
Ability to build strong customer relationships over the phone and specifically video calls
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals
Good working knowledge of company IT systems
Being a Volume Housebuilder Account Manager in TP gives you a fantastic opportunity to excel and to continue to develop your career, if you choose. As a new colleague, you will be encouraged to enrol onto a TP development scheme - which are available to colleagues and managers at all levels of our business. How will you know you are doing a great job and developing your career? Simple. We will support you with a development plan that embraces our values.
